Overview
As a professional member of an interdisciplinary team, the
Research Associate will coordinate the successful conduct of a multiple human research studies related to the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, including HIV, COVID-19, vaccines, and others.
Responsibilities
- The position will develop and manage administrative systems, provide leadership for junior research staff, develop, implement and modify recruitment strategies, ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accountability for fulfillment of contractual obligations.
- The position will explain studies to potential subjects, obtained informed consent, follow subjects on studies according to all protocol requirements and procedures (including some weekend work if required per protocols), process and ship study-required specimens, assess and report adverse events as per protocols, and meticulously complete all required protocol documentation and data extraction/entry according to Good Clinical Practice and other applicable clinical trials and research protocols and standard operating procedures.
- The position requires 3 years of similar experience, excellent ability to work as part of a team, and the ability and willingness to work in personal protective equipment as needed for infection control purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- CITI (or equivalent) certification for protection of human subjects in research required.
- CCRP or equivalent required.
- Strong familiarity with Good Clinical practice (GCP) and ICH regulations.
- Experience with shipping of biological samples required.
- Expertise in the use of Access, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- At least three years of experience participating in pharmaceutical industry, other IND studies and/or NIH research studies.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, compassion, and ability to meet deadlines as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers (patients, direct care staff, providers, departmental and executive leadership, etc.).
- Ability to conduct basic data entry.
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
- Must be able to wear PPE up to and including N95 mask.
