Overview
Clinical and Administrative Management and Supervision of counselors. Facilitate integration of clinical services with the overall administration and management of the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Supervision of counseling staff regarding their clinical work with patients.
- Conduct intakes for new patients.
- Orient and train counseling staff regarding all aspects of the program and the role of the substance use counselor.
- Review and supervision of counselors’ administrative responsibilities.
- Complete scheduled evaluations of all supervised staff as well as initiate disciplinary process when indicated.
- Monitoring staff compliance with hospital and program policies and procedures.
- Initiate staff compliance with hospital and program policies and procedures.
- Acting site director in absence of site director.
- Unit staff scheduling on an ongoing basis and monitoring compliance.
- Manage conflict resolution of staff and patients.
- Organize and chair regularly scheduled IDC meetings and morning report to facilitate interdisciplinary communication.
- Oversee counselor follow-up on IDC recommendations.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring and orienting new staff.
- Maintain and supervise reporting systems to upper management.
- Facilitate temporary medication for patients referred from other programs.
- Primary Backup to alternate team clinical supervisor in leading IDCs.
- Facilitate implementation of CQI program with counseling staff including timely reporting of CQI indicators to CQI Committee.
Requirements
- LMSW or LCSW, Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Clinical Psychology or other clinical field required.
- A minimum of at least 3 years of experience in the treatment of substance use required.
- Training in assessment and treatment of substance use disorders required.
- Must possess strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Supervisory or administrative experience is preferred.
The hours for this position are Monday – Friday 9:30am – 6:00pm.
