The per-diem Endoscopy Registered Nurse role at Montefiore Medical Center is guided by the standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing's Social Policy Statement.
In this role, the per-diem Endoscopy Registered Nurse is committed to upholding the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures of the institution.
Key responsibilities include participating in performance improvement and research activities, maintaining professional practice standards and clinical expertise, and demonstrating leadership skills. The per-diem Endoscopy Registered Nurse also demonstrates core and unit-specific competencies based on the patient population served.
Qualifications:
• New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an R.N.
• BSN Degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Endoscopy /GI RN bedside experience in a hospital setting
• Basic Life Support Training
• Infection Control Training
• Certification in specialty preferred
• Effective English communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems
