Summary:
- The Associate Director, IS Clinical Initiatives collaborates with key stakeholders in designing and deploying Electronic Health Record (EHR) solutions to address the clinical complexities of healthcare through application development and data analytics. Key responsibilities include leading proof-of-concept and other implementation efforts that involve health information technology, outcome and metric creation, algorithm development and advanced clinical decision support (CDS). In addition, provides analysis and programming activities to improve business processes and measuring impact is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the day to day operations of the assigned application team members including but not limited to employee mentoring, timecard retrieval, team meetings and communicating operational requirements of UPHS to all team members.
- Manages team members through the project management life cycle to ensure that overall progress and management of application project tasks are on track.
- Provides project guidance to Information Services (IS) teams on informatics principles, metric formation, algorithm development and IS processes.
- Works with clinical and business leaders within the health system to eliminate gaps in EMR solutions and drive towards increased technology adoption.
- Informs the design and strategy of data model, common data model elements and infrastructure to support adoption of EHR analytics solutions. Supports and directs enterprise-based EHR clinical initiatives for the organization. Works closely with stakeholders, managers, leaders, care teams, consultants and IS teams to design and deploy clinical informatics solutions that add value to providers, patients, and health outcomes.
- Contributes to the use of existing population health and testing of new population health sets to drive improved health outcomes.
- Informs the design of CDS and applications that are value add to provider and patient engagement with measurable impact to health outcomes and total cost of care.
Credentials:
- CRNA or CRNP or MD or PA-C or RN (Required)
- RN Certification required.
MD, DO, NP, PA preferred.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- And 5+ years experience in healthcare/clinical setting (Required)
- Experience in EHR, data or technology focused leadership role (Preferred)
